Baum-kuchen Brass Plate “The Journey is the destination”
£21.38
An exclusively designed Baum-kuchen brass plate, with the statement “The Journey is the Destination”, which has been their guiding principle through their Baum-kuchen journey since 2010.
The design of “JOURNEY” comes from a stenciled graphic that was physically punched out by a vintage stenciling machine originally used to label oil barrels. We then fused the design of “JOURNEY” with inspiration from vintage labels. The brass plate can be used as a charm on the elastic band of Traveler’s Notebook cover!
Material: Brass
Dimensions: W 3.2cm x H 1.4cm
You may notice a darkening or spots on the brass. This is not considered a defect but an organic characteristic that will develop a unique patina due to the natural ageing process of brass.

Baum-kuchen started its journey in 2010 as an online store operated in the founders’ Wakako and Frido’s garage. Today they are a studio, shop, and lifestyle that are passionate about living life and excited to share with their customers everything extraordinary that inspires every day.
They are interested in exploring the idea of “Journey as the destination”, “love for analogue” and “slow living” and are constantly evolving and looking for inspiration from Japan (where Wakako grew up), Germany (where Frido is from) and everywhere in between
Their hope is to continuously bring us creativity, imagination, and inspiration.
“Baum-kuchen” is a name of a delicious German cake that has become quite popular in Japan. It looks like a tree stump and to Wakako and Frido it represents layers of happiness that have been built with time aging beautifully.
